We now offer two 12 month program tracks:
The Family/Adult Nurse Practitioner/ Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Residency (fully accredited by the National Nurse Practitioner Residency & Fellowship Training Consortium)Participate in continuity clinics which are the cornerstone of the residency program. Residents develop their own patient panel of children and/or adults working with dedicated support of an expert preceptor (APRN, PA, and/or Physician).
Participate in specialty rotations in intensive areas of practice including child (Family track ONLY), adolescent, specialties and special populations, adult and geriatric comprehensive care.
Participate in didactic and administrative roles that serve to develop the professional competency of the NP/PA
Develop knowledge and skills to improve care utilizing quality improvement (QI) tools and methods
*Opportunities to participate in additional subspecialty trainings in leadership and HIV etc. and to engage
with their assigned community at all levelsBidirectional formal and informal evaluations of professional competency and growth
The Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant ResidencyParticipate in continuity clinics which are the cornerstone of the residency program. Residents develop their own patient panel of adults and children, working with dedicated support of an expert preceptor (APRN and/or Psychiatrist).
Participate in specialty rotations in longitudinal and intensive areas of practice including child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric, and MAT using a group therapy modality across several facilities and settings
Participate in psychotherapy supervision sessions weekly to develop this modality of care
Participate in didactic and administrative roles that serve to develop the professional competency of the NP/PA
Develop knowledge and skills to improve care utilizing quality improvement (QI) tools and methods
Opportunities to participate in additional ECHOs including Project ECHO® Buprenorphine
*Bidirectional formal and informal evaluations of professional competency and growth
Experience and Skills:
Experience: Less than 24 months of clinical practice as an NP/PA
Education: Graduate of an accredited master's/doctorate prepared NP/PA program
Specific Skills: AANP/AANC/NCCPA Board Certification, NYS licensure as NP/PA, DEA Languages: Spanish desirable but not required.
.Position Work Schedule:
40 hours full-time, 52 weeks, 1 year only position. Weekdays and weekends during certain rotations.
