Position Summary:
We are searching for a dynamic Licensed Master Social Workers or Licensed Mental Health Counselors to join our School-Based Health team in Elmhurst, Queens. As the Clinical Social Worker , you will work with high school students in our Newtown High School program and provide support to students by way of behavioral health screenings, crisis intervention, and individual psychotherapy.
As a member of our school health department, you are part of an interdisciplinary team of providers and healthcare professionals that provide comprehensive primary care, dental, and behavioral health services to our students.
This position allows for a quality structure of clinical supervision and counts towards clinical hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in social work from Accredited Institution is required.
- NYS Licensed LMSW or LMHC is required.
- Previous training and experience with clinical intervention and support services.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to identify high-risk psychosocial factors in patients and families that impact health status.
Key Duties:
- Provides bio-psychosocial assessments and clinical diagnostic assessments.
- Conducts individual psychotherapy and counseling services to children within public schools.
- Maintains skills and knowledge in clinical theory and practice to help patients overcome dependencies, adjust to life, and make changes.
- Provides counseling to family members to assist with understanding and supporting patients.
- Engages in crisis intervention when necessary and refers patients or family to community resources.
- Provides consultation to medical providers. Collaborates with physicians to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs.
- Participates in clinical team meetings.
Starting Compensation:
Minimum $72,000 per year; Maximum $80,000 per year- Contingent on previous experience working as an LMSW.
Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Onsite, Queens, NY, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
