Position Summary:
Our Pediatrics Department is hiring full time Certified Medical Assistants (Bilingual Spanish/English)! Medical Assistant will provide support to providers and nurses with patient care, clerical duties, and laboratory activities. Candidates must have a true passion and love for working with children and their families.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- 1 year of previous experience working in a community-based clinic.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Bilingual Spanish/English required.
- At least 1 year of related experience with children highly desired.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Proficiency with computers and software.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
Key Duties:
- Prepare and cleans examination rooms, equipment, and sterilizes instruments.
- Obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
- Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.
- Assist provider with treatments.
- Schedules appointments, verifies insurance and demographic information.
Starting Compensation: Minimum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually); Maximum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually)

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Candidates must possess availability to work onsite based out of our Bronx Community Health Center, El Nuevo San Juan. The current schedule required is Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and every other Saturday.
